Up Topic Hauptforen / CSS-Forum / ChessBase Unicode support - a tragedy for now
- - By Emil Vlasák Date 2013-05-21 17:19
To remake an old software project into Unicode concept is a nightmare for every programmer. ChessBase is internationally used software and so it should use Unicode for a long time.
Finally the Unicode is here but the implementation is terrible in the first version (CB12 SP11 and Fritz 13 SP24).

The Unicode is supported in text annotations  and at first view it looks well - see the first picture http://www.vlasak.biz/evcnews.htm#ChessBase_130518.
The Czech, Russian, English and German languages are together  in one box.
But after update you are unable to export  your data into Word (see the second picture) or HTML.
Even German language doesn't work.
So if you are author of chess articles or brochures the update could be killing for you.

Thanks for reporting this. Only the English Text is exported correctly.
