ich denke das ganze wird sich dieses jahr klären.
houdini fuer android war doch auch schon lange angekuendigt. und ? schon herausgekommen ? siehste.

Wenn ich es richtig im Internet aufgeschnappt habe, wird Komodo derzeit komplett auf eine andere Programmiersprache umgeschrieben, um damit dann MP zu bewerkstelligen. Irgendwann...

Also: Selbstverständlich wurde mit dem Verkauf von "Komodo 5 Single" nur "Komodo 5 Single" verkauft. Es wurde nichts weiteres Verkauft. Der "ehrliche" Käufer hat ÜBERHAUPT gar KEIN Anspruch auf irgendetwas anderes als auf "Komodo 5 Single", und ich bin sicher, dass jeder Käufer von "Komodo 5 Single" seine Version erhalten hat.

Es ist furchbar wie manche (ich wähle lieber keinen Ausdruck) denken, sie hätten mit dem Kauf eines Produktes Anspruch auf zusätzliche Leistungen ... am besten noch den Programmierer als persönlichen Leibesel für immer. Denn schließlich wurde ja ehrlich ein paar Euro bezahlt, da sollte schon ein Sklave enthalten sein der monatlich kostenlose Updates, Verbesserungen, stärkere Versionen billiger usw nachschießt, Tag und Nacht E-Mails und Fragen beantwortet und sich dabei gefälligst beeilt und sich nicht stunden zeit nimmt, ...

Ich werde auf keinen Unfug der hier nachfolgt antworten und erst recht nicht auf das gerülpse von sich betrogen fühlenden.

Im Prinzip hast Du nicht Unrecht (damit, dass der Kunde von heute gerne zur Auffassung neigt, für ein paar läppische Euros den ganzen Laden gekauft zu haben).

Wenn ja dann wird alles gut, auch wenn es zumindest zeitlich schon etwas daneben ist ?!

6 monate bis zu MP könnte bei der zeitlichen umrechnung der letzten aussage auch 2 jahre bedeuten

Aber es bleibt nix anderes übrig als zu warten.

mit der aussage auf dem homepage von komodo (siehe posting von @frank brenner)
sieht das nicht so aus, dass sich jemand hier zu "unrecht beschwert" oder?

Klar hat jeder seine single bekommen, und wenn diejenigen dann auch die MP für den nuller bekommen wurde der vertrag erfüllt!
Nur rein zeitlich wurde nichts garantiert.
Ist halt sehr schade, dass es so lange dauert, aber die meisten sind seeeehr geduldig

Sowas als "unfug" zu bezeichnen ist somit auch nicht richtig!

halte ich für unangemessen.
Die Aussage "MP komodo 5 is getting our full attention. People who bought Komodo 4 and Komodo 5 will get Komodo 5 MP for free." von der Kommodo-Seite legt schon nahe, Kommodo 4/5-Käufer würden eine kostenlose MP-Version erhalten. Ob das rechtlich bindend ist, weiß ich nicht.

Ursprünglich wurde versprochen, daß alle Komodo 4 (vier) Käufer die Komodo-MP 4 (vier) zu einem günstigeren Preis erhalten würden. Erst danach, nämlich als Komodo 5 (fünf) plötzlich erschien, wurde das Versprechen umgewandelt in:
"MP komodo 5 is getting our full attention. People who bought Komodo 4 and Komodo 5 will get Komodo 5 MP for free".

The final pre-MP version should be released tomorrow or the next day. Don hopes to be able to implement MP in a couple weeks, in time for the tournament in Holland in which Komodo will be playing at the end of the month. If so an MP release could follow shortly afterwards. Whether things will really happen this quickly remains to be seen.

Komodo 4 was supposed to be released today (SP version), apparently there was some delay with getting it compiled suitably. Maybe it will be a Christmas surprise for everyone! It's no longer free, but pretty inexpensive ($19.95).
The MP version should follow in January.

The way we are doing MP now in Komodo, it will run on any number of cores, but six is about the maximum from which the benefit will be noticeable.

We are not planning Komodo 6 until MP is ready. I know that people are anxious for MP but we decided to release Komodo 5 because it was a substantial improvement and we felt that people would appreciate having it sooner rather than later. That is good for you and good for us. That's how this should be. We constructed this to be a very appealing deal, not to screw you.
We do have MP already - it's a version close to Komodo 4 that is functional but does not perform as well as I want it to. I will get that working and then it will be quickly merged into Komodo 5 MP.

Actually we already have enough improvements that we could release a Komodo 6 tomorrow with enough elo gain to catch Houdini 2, at least at IPON level or slower. The only reason we don't do so is our commitment to Komodo MP; if we released K6 sp first many would doubt that MP would ever come out!

Don has started a rewrite of Komodo that will be MP from the early stages. When it reaches the level of Komodo 5 (on one core) it may be released as the MP version of Komodo 5.

Hehe, wir hatten einen ähnlichen Fall neulich, aber wenn sich jemand so viel Arbeit macht um vermeintliche Beweise für so eine Lapalie zu sammeln hat er ein Problem (oder klarer "Ernsthaft einen an der Waffel") ...

Und das schönste ist, er weiß es sogar, schließlich postet er es als Anon!
