Engines and core/time evolution

Hi all,

I have decided to make an analysis of time/multi-core improvements of some engines, principally Houdini, Critter, Stockfish and Rybka.
To realise that, I took Power-Trophy Tournament of Clemens Keck and re-started it with exactly the same openings but in ultra blitz 40/1' time control and one core use, while Clemens used 10min+10s time control and 8 cores use.
He obtained this ranking :

PlaceEngineAuthorCountryHoudiniStockfishRybkaCritterPoints
1Houdini 2.0c Pro x64 T8Robert Houdart**********1½½001101½1½½0½10½11½½½1½0½1½½17.0/30
2Stockfish 2.2.2 JA SSE42 T8T. Romstad, M. Costalba, J. Kiiski0½½110010½**********10½½½½½½1½½1½½½101½116.5/30
3Deep Rybka 4.1 x64 T8Vasik Rajlich0½½1½01½0001½½½½½½0½**********1½½½½½½½½114.5/30

Now my ranking gave this :

PlaceEngineAuthorCountryHoudiniCritterStockfishRybkaPoints
1Houdini 2.0c x64Robert Houdart**********½01½1½1½½011½1110½½½111½½½11½120.5/30

3Stockfish 2.2.2 JA 64bitT. Romstad, M. Costalba, J. Kiiski00½0001½½½½00½½0½100**********½½111½½0½011.5/30
4Rybka 4.1 x64Vasik Rajlich000½½½00½0½½0½0½0½01½½000½½1½1**********10.0/30

Can we conclude something about these two tables ? Some will say that 60 games are not enough, but I think that this argument is not enough to explain the collapse of Critter on multi-core and longer time control !

Best regards,
Orlando

Well, this argument should be applied mostly to Clemens' result, which is indeed surprising!
Your result is in the "no-surprise" zone.
