Two engines of equal strength do 100 games. With likelyhood 33% one of them will reach at least 54,0 points.
Should we beleave now, that this one ist really stronger?

Hi Benno,
Yes, I really think that Critter is stronger than Stockfish in blitz games. But in longer time control or/and multi core, Stockfish seems to be better.

Orlando

Results are rather different, although the number of games is large:

CCRL gives a differenc of more than 40 ELO
http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404/rating_list_all.html
http://computerchess.org.uk/ccrl/404/rating_list_pure.html

and CEGT shows nearly equality

You should compare the Single-64-Bit-Engines, not the SMP!
CCRL:
Stockfish 2.0.1 64-bit = 3188
Critter 1.01 64-bit = 3174

http://www.inwoba.de/ shows a difference of 23 ELO

Hi,
This tournament, and others, is very interessant. But the most problem is that mine isn't done in the same conditions, and my use of opening book is very limited.

Best,
Orlando

[/quote]Your tournament is done with very few(!!) games.
In my opinion this is the most important difference.
