Q: Database Upper Limit

To be sure, you mean: 8 million games.

My current research db (cb) contains 22 million games,
almost all unannotated but with doubles included.
No problem as a reference db so far.

I wanted to store some 40 million games.
So the question.

Hi there,

I am far from a chessbase expert, but think I have heard that the limit is 2GB size for CBH no matter the number of games.

But maybe it is very easy and fast answered if you ask the CB support. That would be my first place to ask!

Thanks.

The size of cbh for my research db is now approx. 1 GB.
If this info is true, I may store 40-45 million games in a cb db.
This is more than sufficient for my purposes.

Any info on other database management software?

Thanks. This should be an old limit, probably for CB 8.

PS: 2 GB limit for a cbh file is perhaps related with OS limitations.
