…bei CCC gegen Torch mit großem Abstand.
Bei TCEC mit sicherem Abstand zu Komodo und sehr knapp zu Stockfish.
Mal sehen wie sich das neue BT3 Netz im Finale schlägt.

Leider finde ich unter dem angegebenen Link keine Lc0 Binary...
Was schade ist, weil ich gerne demnächst einen 1000 Partien Testrun mit dieser Lc0 Binary+Netz machen würde im Rahmen meiner Tests von Lc0 vs. Stockfish 15.1:

Ich glaube, die neuere Version behebt einen Fehler mit einer falschen NPS Ausgabe.

Danke für die Info. Tatsächlich ist die Knotenzählung der Erstgenannten sehr hoch, ich bleib' jetzt aber, wenn das der einzige Unterschied ist, trotzdem bei der.

Zu früh gefreut.

Der Start des TCEC Finals wurde gerade um einen Tag verschoben, weil man den Lc0 Entwicklern Zeit geben will, noch eine neue Version mit der "optimistic head policy" zu schicken, weil die Version ohne diese policy gerade ziemlich verprügelt wird beim CCC auf chess.com.

Edit: Die "optimistic policy" wird per Parameter gesetzt, Netz und Engine bleiben also gleich. Trotzdem gibt man sich noch einen Extra-Tag, um diese neuen Einstellungen auf der TCEC-Hardware zu testen.

Schon jetzt spielt auf CCC das Finale zwischen BT3 gegen SF mit 10 min/ 3 sec. 240 Partien.
BT3 soll besonders bei niedrigeren TC stärker als T2 sein.

Im ebenfalls stark überwiegend taktisch orientierten Test sehe ich keinen statistisch relevanten Unterschied, mit den bekannten 128 Stellungen

Die Ergebnisse von Lc0  mit der RTX 3080 und dem neuen Netz sind mit 77 gelösten Stellungen sehr gut.

Stockfish 08.10.23 mit der unten angeführten Hardware schafft da "nur" 73.

Aber ganz hervorragend  die Engine Sun Light II  mit 84 gelösten Stellungen.

Den bisherigen Verlauf des CCC- Matches sieht Jouni Uski im Talkchess halt eher pragmatisch, und ganz unrecht hat er nicht, die vielen Binaries und Netze, die höchstens im Selfplay gerade mal aus der error bar rauskommen (siehe die 200 Partien, die du zitierst, ich nehme mal an, das ist ongoing?), bevor sie wieder durch die nächsten ersetzt werden, machen eine echte Fortschrittskontrolle eher schwierig:

Natürlich erst recht zu früh, nach gerade erst knappen 60 Partien schon was Schlüssiges zu sagen, aber der Start schaut halt schon mal wieder nach den bekannten 60 zu 40 % für SF aus.

Und natürlich kann's auch so sein, wie ich mich schon weiter oben fragte, dass SF halt gleich viel oder noch mehr zugelegt hat wie (als) Lc0, aber auf diese Art(en) werden wir das halt auch nie mehr so richtig erfahren. Am besten scoren die Verfolger wie Torch und Lc0 natürlich, wenn schwächere Gegner auch mitspielen. Das war immer schon auch eine gute Art, Elo zu spreizen bzw. noch und noch eigene zu kreieren.

Ach, Reinhold, weil sich der alte HTC immer noch hartnäckig als Standard- Suite in diesem Forum hält, hab' ich ihn halt auch mal wieder laufen lassen, und weil's eine alte Suite ist, mit einer alten Engine
Nein, im Ernst, kann man schon machen, und HypnoS (Marcos private Engine) von Ende Juni ist ja auch noch nicht ganz out of date, aber 60"/Stellung SMP ist einfach zuviel heutzutage, wenn man die Stockfische damit untereinander vergleichen will, die vielen gemeinsam gelösten sind lauter Remis- Matches, es sei denn, man vergleicht auch noch, wie's EloStatTS macht, die genauen Zeiten zu den Lösungen.

Wie auch immer, 60"/Stellung, 16 Threads (damit's auch zu deinem Run passt) der 16x3.5GHz CPU, 4096Mb Hash und einem zu dieser TC passenden Parameter- Setting (das man übrigens auch game playing machen lassen könnte, wenn man ebenfalls nicht allzu kurze TCs verwendete):

Ja, Peter das ist schon richtig.

Nur haben die starken Taktiker den Nachteil dass sie im praktischen Spiel
manchmal positionelle Schwächen haben.

Für mich ist die ideale Engine die taktische Stärke mit sehr gutem positionellem Spiel
vereint und damit auf Schach.de mit sehr guten Ergebnissen einsetzbar ist.

Ich mag mich da wirklich nicht auf einen einzelnen festlegen, Reinhold, ich poste deshalb ständig verschiedene Ergebnisse mit verschiedenen Sets und Methoden, weil ich sie in Summe sehe, das einzelne ist immer nur eine Momentaufnahme und stark von den teilnehmenden Engines, der Hardware- TC und natürlich der Fragestellung abhängig, auf die die jeweiligen Stellungen zugeschnitten sind, wie es immer so schön hieß, der Stellungstest testet die Teststellungen.
Beim Eng-Eng- Match ist's ja auch immer schon dasselbe gewesen und mittlerweile erst recht so vielfältig in den Ergebnissen, wie du Eröffnungsteststellungen, Hardware- TC und Enginepool auswählst.

Bei mir fehlen halt die 6 Stellungen, die Vincent Lejeune zuletzt selbst aus der Suite noch herausgenommen hatte, aber das waren ohnehin nicht die schwersten, es waren solche, die ihm nicht gut genug waren.

Es macht keinen Sinn zu sagen: In Testsuites sind 60 Sekunden pro Stellung "zu viel heutzutage".
In Testsuites sind 60 Sekunden pro Stellung seit Jahren viel zu viel!!
In maximal einer Sekunde hat die Engine 66 Stellungen gelöst und du gibst der Engine hierfür mindestens die 60-fache Bedenkzeit und im Durchschnitt sogar deutlich mehr.
Usain Bolt läuft auch x Meter in einer Minute aber geben wir ihm doch für die gleiche Strecke mindestens 60 Minuten Zeit.
Ab 1.01 bis maximal 2 Sekunden wurden 10 Stellungen gelöst.
Ab 2.01 bis maximal 3 Sekunden wurden 3 Stellungen gelöst.

Jeder Anfänger weiß, dass man entweder alle Stellungen mit super kurzer Bedenkzeit testet oder man entfernt die Aufgaben die bei kurzer Bedenkzeit gelöst werden und testet bei langer Bedenkzeit Aufgaben die lange brauchen.
Wir leben doch lange nicht mehr in 1980 auf dem Stand alter Schachcomputer, was Hardware und Softwareleistung angeht.

Viel zu lange bei Computerschach Ranglisten.
1 bis 5 sec. sind relevant.
Im übrigen sind diese privaten Engines nicht für einen Vergleich geeignet.

Bei nur einer Lösung Unterschied in Summe tue ich mir das händische Vergleichen der einzelnen Lösungen in WDL- Hinsicht nicht an, das bleibt sowieso innerhalb der error bar, egal, wie man's misst, ob in Elo, Prozent oder was auch immer. Siehe die 256 oben, die selbst mit EloStatTS in der Irrtumswahrscheinlichkeit bleiben.
Und da sind die Matches aus den vielen anderen Vergleichs- Runs davor ja doch auch etwas zahlreicher.

Und dann hab' ich mir noch den Spaß gemacht, um von den einzelnen Runs möglichst viel zu haben, den besseren von Lc0 mit dem 2790M- Netz und den von Tactical nach WDL abzuzählen (alle nur von Tactical gelösten als Wins, alle gemeinsam gelösten oder gemeinsam nicht gelösten als Draws und alle nur von Lc0 gelösten als Losses) und in EloStat einzugeben:

Result     : 65.5/114 (+23,=85,-6)

Falls es jemanden interessiert, der Umrechnungsfaktor für diese Binary- Netz- Kombi ist jetzt wieder ziemlich genau 1000msec Eingabe für 500msec, die dann wirklich verwendet werden, gilt halt vermutlich auch genau nur für meine Hardware, die 3070ti GPU und die Ryzen 5950 CPU. Einstellungen von Lc0 alle default, also 2 CPU- Threads und 2Mb NN- Cache (in der entsprechenden Spalte fälschlich als Hash bezeichnet).
