Sehr geehrter Chessplayer,

eine bestimmte Stellung mit einem Matt in N Zügen ist schon was spezielles und erlaubt nur bedingt Rückschlüsse auf eigene Compiles.
Magst Du vielleicht statt dessen entweder eine Testsuite durchnudeln lassen, was in einer Stunde erledigt ist.
Mit Fritz wird am Ende neben der Anzahl der Lösungen auch die durchschnittliche Lösungszeit und durchschn. Tiefe angegeben.
Dies erlaubt einen Vergleich zumindest über eine Vielzahl von Stellungen hinweg.
Wenn Du nicht Fritz hast, lässt es sich auch mit Banksia erledigen.
Oder wenn Dir das zu aufwändig erscheint, dann bitte noch 1-2 alternative Stellungen, die "nur" zu einem klaren Gewinn führen.

Ich bin nämlich sehr an deinen Ergebnissen interessiert. Als ich nämlich Stockfish mit der MS Visual Studio 2019 Version kompiliert hatte, waren die Lösungszeiten deutlich schwächer (geschätzt 20% länger) als die offiziellen Compiles.

Der Intel-Compiler steht doch in dem Ruf, besonders schnelle Kompilate zu erzeugen.

Engine 1 (Original) ca. 4,5 % schneller als Engine 2 (VC19). Engine 3 (mingw) ca. 2 % schneller als Engine 1 und Engine 4 (clang) ca. 1,6 % schneller als Engine 1.
Diese Tests liefen ohne Bildschirmausgabe (das würde ja nur die Geschwindigkeit des Bildschirmtreibers und der entsprechenden Programmbibliothek testen). Im ersten Test wurde sie nach nul umgeleitet. Buildtester macht das vermutlich ähnlich.

Die vom Microsoft Compiler erstellten Dateien waren schon immer langsamer als Mingw/msys2 und Konsorten. Von den Entwicklern nutzen den nur sehr wenige.

Ihr könntet auch den interen bench Command von Stockfish zum Testen nutzen. Da werden dann viele Stellungen nacheinander getestet.

Das stimmt so nicht. Visual Studio ist perfekt zum Entwickeln. Die IDE mit dem integrierten Debugger ist ungeschlagen in Komfort und Funktionalität.

Und wenn man fertig ist mit Entwickeln, kompiliert man halt mit gcc oder besser noch Clang, um ein richtig schnelles Executable zu bekommen.
